National Anthem

A BASEBALL TRADITION: THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

From the smallest towns to the biggest ballparks, no baseball game can begin until the playing of our National Anthem. Have you ever wanted to perform The Star-Spangled Banner and/or O Canada in front of thousands of fans? Each spring, the Lincoln Saltdogs hold tryouts for individuals and groups who would like to sing the National Anthem at Haymarket Park before a Saltdogs home game.

Soloists and small groups may audition to sing the Star-Spangled Banner and O Canada, but everyone who tries out must perform the song(s) a cappella in its original format. For the 2016 Season, all National Anthem tryouts must be submitted by recording.

The recording can be sent at any time, but must reach us by April 15th, to be in consideration. Please make sure the file is audio and not a DVD. We have a limited number of open spaces for this coming season, so not everyone can be guaranteed a date. If you do not get scheduled to perform, you can still choose to be on our contact list and we will reach out if there is ever an opening during this season, or you could have the possibility to schedule a date next season.

You can mail or email your audition in. Be sure to include your name, address, phone and email address in your message.
