Biography:
Nuñez returns for a full season in 2010, after joining Lincoln late in 2009 and serving as the team’s DH throughout the playoffs. Argelis didn’t hit for a high average after the late-season trade, but he drove in six runs in ten regular-season games, then drove in another six runs in the team’s ten playoff contests. Nuñez was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in 1999, and spent that season in the rookie-level Dominican Summer League before coming to the States in 2000. He played in the D-backs organization in ’00 and ’01, getting a brief taste of Class AAA along the way. He then spent the next three seasons out of baseball. The D-backs re-signed him before the 2005 season, but he played in just four Class A games that year, and then sat out 2006 and 2007. Argelis resurfaced in 2008, playing for Harlingen and Edinburg in the United League. He moved to Laredo in 2009, and was having a banner year for the Broncos when Lincoln acquired him.
